Abuja, The Progressive Endorsement for Asiwaju's Continuity Efforts (PEACE) has formally appointed and decorated Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, OFR, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, North-West, as its National Patron. The decision, ratified by the group’s National Executive Committee, is part of PEACE’s broader strategy to align with key stakeholders who embody the vision and governance philosophy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The brief but colorful decoration ceremony took place at Hon. Yakasai’s office in Abuja on Wednesday. The event was attended by members of the PEACE National Executive Committee, state coordinators, and other stakeholders who had converged on the Federal Capital Territory for a series of strategic engagements. The atmosphere was one of solidarity and renewed commitment to the continuity agenda being championed by the group.
Performing the decoration, the National Coordinator of PEACE, Hajiya Zainab Adam Nyako (Mrs), described Hon. Yakasai as a consistent champion of development whose impact resonates across the North-West and beyond. She noted that his appointment was not merely ceremonial but a recognition of his years of service, political maturity, and deep understanding of grassroots mobilization, all of which align with the core objectives of PEACE.
Hajiya Nyako further stated that Hon. Yakasai’s contributions to the realization of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for an inclusive Nigeria have been exemplary. She pointed to his role in bridging communication gaps between the Presidency and communities in the North-West, fostering trust, and ensuring that government policies are better understood and embraced at the grassroots level. This, she said, made him a natural choice for the role of National Patron.
According to the National Coordinator, PEACE deliberately sought a leader whose personal values and public service record reflect the group’s mandate of consolidating support for the re-election bid of President Tinubu in 2027. She emphasized that the organization is building a coalition of credible voices who can speak to Nigerians across divides, and Hon. Yakasai’s reputation for fairness and accessibility fits that profile perfectly.
In his response, Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, OFR, expressed profound gratitude to the leadership and members of PEACE for the honor bestowed upon him. He described the decoration as both humbling and motivating, noting that it represents a call to deeper service and greater responsibility in the collective effort to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda. He commended the group for its clarity of purpose and organizational discipline.
He charged the group to redouble its efforts in reaching out to the grassroots, stressing that political victories are secured in communities, wards, and polling units. Hon. Yakasai urged PEACE to prioritize issue-based engagement, promote the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration, and counter misinformation with facts as the country moves toward 2027. He maintained that sustained, people-centered outreach remains the most effective campaign tool.
“President Tinubu is a national leader who does not discriminate on the basis of region, faith, or tribe,” Hon. Yakasai stated. He explained that inclusivity is not a slogan but a governing principle of the current administration, evident in appointments, project distribution, and policy direction. He called on all support groups to reflect that same spirit in their mobilization efforts to foster national unity.
Concluding his remarks, Hon. Yakasai pledged to work closely with PEACE and other like-minded groups to strengthen coordination, share strategic insights, and support grassroots structures nationwide. He assured the delegation of his open-door policy and readiness to provide guidance where necessary, reiterating his commitment to ensuring the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the 2027 general elections.
