Bauchi Youths Get New Hope As L.B HALAN Football Academy Opens Trials

Bauchi is set to welcome a new force in grassroots football development as young philanthropist and youth advocate Lumana Halan Bayero* officially announces the launch of L.B HALAN Football Academy. The dream, Bayero revealed, was conceived three months ago during a trip to Switzerland and has now become a reality. The academy is positioned to provide a structured pathway for talented young players in Bauchi State, with a clear focus on discipline, education, and exposure to international opportunities.

Speaking on the journey to establishing the academy, Bayero paid tribute to his longtime brother and friend Imma Kann, a Swedish citizen whom he has known for 17 years since their days sharing _Ekmek_ in Kuzey. According to Bayero, Imma believed in the vision from day one and hosted him and his family for nearly a week in Europe, promising to support the project. The two later embarked on a tour bus journey across Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein, meeting with potential business partners and scouting football clubs to explore collaborations that would help bring the academy’s vision to life.

Bayero’s passion for youth development did not start with football. Over the years he has been a consistent voice for young people through platforms such as the Future Forward Conference and the City Boy Movement, where he has continued to drive youth-centered agendas around leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic responsibility. For him, L.B HALAN Football Academy is a natural extension of that work creating practical opportunities for young people to convert talent into careers, and to represent Bauchi and Nigeria on bigger stages.

To the glory of God Almighty, Bayero said, everything is now falling into place. The academy has constituted a new management team that will coordinate its activities, with members set to be unveiled in the coming days. The immediate next step is talent discovery. L.B HALAN Football Academy will conduct its first official football trials on Monday, 3rd August 2026, in the historic city of Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi State. The trials are open to every talented player under the age of 18 from all parts of Bauchi State who wish to showcase their skills. Details on registration and requirements are contained in the attached letter of invitation.

Bayero is calling on parents, coaches, community leaders, and stakeholders across the state to support the initiative. With partnerships being built in Europe and a management structure now in place, the academy aims to provide not just training, but mentorship, education support, and pathways to professional clubs.
