Gabarin Receives “Icon for Sports Development” Award

Bauchi, The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development of Bauchi State, Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin, has been honoured with the “Icon for Sports Development” award by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). The award was presented during a ceremony held at the state’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

The award was signed and delivered by the Zonal Sports Coordinator, Ahmed Nasiru Abdulhamid (Elsheik), who acted on behalf of the FIRS. In his remarks, Abdulhamid commended Gabarin’s dedication to the development of sports in Bauchi State.

In a statement, Hon. Gabarin said he was filled with immense gratitude and a deep sense of humility to receive the recognition. He described the honor as a personal milestone that underscores his commitment to public service.

The “Icon for Sports Development” award is given in support of excellence and celebrates core values such as action, innovation, wisdom, hard work, and transformative results. Gabarin noted that these principles guide his work at the ministry.

He emphasized that the award is not solely his achievement but a testament to the collective efforts of the entire team at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. Their combined efforts, he said, have been instrumental in advancing sports initiatives across the state.

Gabarin also highlighted the shared commitment of the ministry to elevate the standards of sports and empower the youth of Bauchi State. He expressed confidence that the recognition will inspire further progress in the sector.

He extended sincere thanks to the Federal Inland Revenue Service for the acknowledgment and pledged to continue working tirelessly and innovatively for the advancement of sports in Bauchi State.
