Bauchi, Managing Director of AIG Guyaba Tailoring Fashion Design Services, Almustapha Idris Guyaba, yesterday welcomed the Globacom management team of the Bauchi State Chapter to his office in Yelwa, opposite the College of Agriculture, Bauchi. The meeting, attended by the head of Globacom Bauchi State and the Regional Manager for the North‑East Zone, aimed to explore ways the two organisations could collaborate for mutual benefit.
During the gathering, the parties agreed to partner in registering and enrolling trainees, with the first batch receiving free Globacom SIM cards to facilitate easy communication and the creation of an alumni group for identification purposes. Globacom pledged its support to broaden the reach of AIG Guyaba Tailoring, positioning the telecom firm as a development partner in the fashion and skills‑training sector.
AIG Guyaba Tailoring has already celebrated the graduation of 60 trainees from its inaugural class and has now enrolled another 60 participants for the second batch. The Managing Director expressed his commitment to continue extending assistance to the less‑privileged, with a target of training at least 500 children to become self‑sufficient.
The partnership is expected to enhance the visibility of AIG Guyaba Tailoring’s programmes across Bauchi State and the wider North‑East region. By leveraging Globacom’s extensive network, the fashion design service hopes to attract more sponsors, industry experts, and potential employers for its graduates.
Both organisations highlighted the importance of youth empowerment and the role of private‑public collaborations in driving socio‑economic development. The agreement marks a significant step toward bridging the skills gap in the local textile and fashion industry.
The event concluded with a pledge from Almustapha Idris Guyaba to maintain his dedication to community development, while Globacom reaffirmed its intention to support initiatives that foster entrepreneurship and digital inclusion among young Nigerians.
