Outgoing NYAN Speaker Condemns synergy efforts to undermine President Bola Tinubu by Wali Vanguard

From: John Faith

Nasarawa, Personal Assistant on Students Affairs to the Governor of Nasarawa State and Outgoing Speaker of the Northern Youths Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal (Dubagari Jnr), has issued a statement condemning attempts to undermine the APC's efforts in Nasarawa State.

In the statement, Lawal expressed concern over remarks attributed to yo social media platforms link to Mr. Abubakar Mohammed Adamu, saying they do not reflect the party's collective position and risk misrepresenting the intentions of welfare-driven policies implemented under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The complete statement is attached below:

TEXT OF PRESS CONFERENCE STATEMENT

Gentlemen of the Press, Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

My attention and that of concern youths stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the general public has been drawn to recent statements and activities circulating in the media space, which have the potential to undermine party cohesion, responsible governance, and public confidence in ongoing development efforts in Nasarawa State.

We note with concern that remarks attributed to platforms associated with Mr. Abubakar Mohammed Adamu, including commentary by Wali Vanguard regarding the Renewed Hope rice intervention, does not reflect the collective position of the APC in Nasarawa State. Such statements risk misrepresenting the intentions and outcomes of welfare-driven policies implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and supported by the Nasarawa State Government led by Governor Abdullahi A. Sule.

Specifically, statements credited to Wali Vanguard concerning the Renewed Hope rice intervention represent a deliberate attempt to undermine the credibility of the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as well as the efforts of the Nasarawa State Government under Governor Abdullahi A. Sule. We make it categorically clear: we will not tolerate any individual or group seeking to undermine the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or the duly elected Governor of Nasarawa State under any guise.

These actions are not isolated. We are aware of ongoing associations and alignments between the same people and the Atiku-led coalition, which appear aimed at destabilizing the growing and visible support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to enjoy in Nasarawa State. These destabilizing efforts are being pursued through calculated internal party distractions and misinformation.

It is on record that they have made no measurable contribution to the growth, mobilization, or strengthening of the APC in Nasarawa State. Notably, during these critical e- membership registration exercises, which were taken seriously by party leaders, stakeholders, and committed members across the state, they were conspicuously absent and inactive. This lack of participation further reinforces concerns about their commitment to the party’s ideals and objectives.

We believe that these actions stem from political romancing with external coalitions whose clear objective is to weaken APC structures from within and erode the solid support base President Bola Ahmed Tinubu enjoys in Nasarawa State. Such conduct is unacceptable and runs contrary to the principles of party loyalty, discipline, and progressive politics.

Let us also reiterate that this is not campaign season. INEC has not lifted the ban on political campaigns, yet certain actors continue to engage in premature and unlawful political activities. We hereby call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take note of these violations and apply appropriate sanctions, in line with the Electoral Act, to deter further abuse of the democratic process.

We reaffirm that decisions taken by the APC State Working Committee are collective, lawful, and binding. Party supremacy remains sacrosanct and must not be subordinated to personal ambition or external political interests.

We stand firmly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi A. Sule against any plot to distract, discredit, or derail governance in Nasarawa State. Our focus remains governance, development, reforms, and consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda, so that Nigerians can continue to experience purposeful leadership.

Politics must not be reduced to a tool for grievance expression or sabotage. The APC is a progressive party committed to national renewal, stability, and development not a platform for political opportunism.
