Bauchi SDP Affirms Loyalty to Gabam, Rejects Gombe’s Leadership Claims

Bauchi, The Bauchi State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party has reaffirmed its loyalty to the legally recognized national leadership of Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, following recent updates by the Independent National Electoral Commission on the party’s leadership structure. The chapter said it remains committed to due process, party cohesion, and the rule of law, and is not aligned with any faction outside the constitutionally recognized framework.

In a statement signed by its Acting State Chairman, Hon. Nasiru Hussaini, the chapter distanced itself from claims made by Sadiq Gombe, noting that a court of competent jurisdiction has nullified his claims and affirmed Gabam as the substantive National Chairman of the SDP. It stressed that Gombe lacks legal authority to represent the party and that any decision or transaction made by him in the party’s name is null and void.

The Bauchi SDP further clarified that the party’s National Convention and Primaries will be held in Abuja as scheduled by the legitimate leadership under Gabam, and urged the public to disregard rumors suggesting the convention would hold in Bauchi. The chapter vowed to uphold the rule of law, warning that any contrary action amounts to contempt of court.

BAUCHI STATE SDP REAFFIRMS LOYALTY TO DULY RECOGNIZED NATIONAL LEADERSHIP; DISOWNS UNLAWFUL CLAIMS

Bauchi, Nigeria_ – The Bauchi State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) issues this statement following recent developments by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concerning the national leadership of the party.

As a responsible and law-abiding political institution, the Bauchi State Chapter reiterates its unwavering commitment to the rule of law, due process, and the supremacy of duly constituted party structures. Our focus remains firmly on institution building, party cohesion, and the advancement of democratic values, not the pursuit of individual interests.

We wish to state unequivocally that our loyalty lies solely with the Social Democratic Party and its leadership as duly recognized by law and the relevant constitutional authorities. The Bauchi State Chapter is not aligned with any individual, faction, or group outside the legally recognized framework of the party. We are not aware of, nor party to, any arrangement, negotiation, or understanding entered into by any person or group on behalf of the Chapter. We therefore urge members, supporters, and the general public to disregard any claims or representations to the contrary.

For the avoidance of doubt, a court of competent jurisdiction has nullified the claims of Sadiq Gombe and affirmed _Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam_ as the substantive and duly elected National Chairman of the SDP. Consequently, Sadiq Gombe lacks the legal authority to represent the party in any capacity. Any decision, transaction, or commitment made by him in the name of the party is null and void.

Furthermore, we reaffirm our loyalty and solidarity with the legally recognized leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam. Under his leadership, the party has released its official schedule of activities, including the National Convention and Primaries, which will be held in Abuja. The public is advised to disregard rumours and false claims suggesting that the party’s National Convention will be held in Bauchi. Such claims did not emanate from the party’s legitimate leadership.

As law-abiding citizens, we will continue to uphold the rule of law. Any action to the contrary amounts to contempt of court and will be treated as such.
