Jere Coalition Throws Weight Behind Bashir’s Assembly Bid

Borno, In a strong show of solidarity and political momentum, a broad coalition of youth and women groups in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State has officially endorsed Hon. Bashir Muhammad to contest for the Jere seat in the Borno State House of Assembly. The endorsement was announced during a well-attended gathering that drew massive turnout from across the local government, signaling growing grassroots support for the aspirant.
The coalition comprises six prominent associations: Jere Youth and Students Association, Jere Concern Youth, Jere Youth Decides, Jere Youth Development Association, Mashamari Youth Development Cooperative Society, Alheri Women Association, and Dusuman Youth Community Awareness Group. Leaders of the groups, while jointly reading the endorsement letter, called on Hon. Bashir Muhammad to step forward for the contest, citing his proven track record, accessibility, and consistent commitment to the people of Jere.
Speaking at the event, the President of the Jere Youth and Students Association affirmed the coalition’s unwavering support, describing the endorsement as “well deserved and timely.” He stressed that Hon. Bashir has remained a consistent partner in youth activities, providing both moral and material support toward youth development and capacity building across the LGA.
Adding his voice, Comr. Sadiq K. Abubakar, Majority Leader of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria, applauded the decision of the coalition and pledged continued mobilization to ensure victory. He assured Hon. Bashir of total backing from youth structures across Jere, noting that the aspirant represents a new generation of responsive and people-centered leadership.
In his response, Hon. Bashir Muhammad expressed profound appreciation to the associations and the entire coalition for the confidence reposed in him. He described the endorsement as a call to service and pledged to justify the trust by prioritizing pressing issues affecting the teeming youth population of Jere, including education, skills acquisition, and job creation.
Hon. Bashir further assured that inclusivity would remain central to his legislative agenda if elected. He promised to run an open-door policy and carry young people along in policy formulation and implementation, with a commitment to driving Jere toward greater progress, unity, and sustainable development.
