Bauchi— AIG GUYAVA TAILORING FASHION DESIGN SERVICES has graduated its 3rd set of trainees in a colorful ceremony held in Bauchi, drawing a distinguished audience that included Dr. Shehu AbdulQadir Zailani of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU Bauchi. The event marked another milestone for the fashion outfit, which has steadily positioned itself as a hub for skills acquisition and youth empowerment in the state.

Delivering his address, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AIG GUYAVA, *Almustapha Idris Guyaba*, said the organization remains committed to supporting youths and women with free training in fashion and design. According to him, the goal is to equip beneficiaries with practical skills that can make them self-reliant and contribute to reducing unemployment. “This time, we have graduated over 60 youths who have completed intensive training in tailoring, fashion design, and entrepreneurship,” he stated.

Dr. Shehu AbdulQadir Zailani, who represented the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, ATBU Bauchi, commended AIG GUYAVA for its consistent investment in human capital development. He noted that partnerships between academic institutions and private skills centers are critical to bridging the gap between formal education and industry needs. “When young people are trained and empowered, we are building the economy from the grassroots. This initiative deserves the support of government, the private sector, and the community,” he said.

The graduation ceremony also featured a fashion exhibition where the trainees showcased designs ranging from traditional attire to modern ready-to-wear collections. Parents, community leaders, and stakeholders applauded the creativity and professionalism displayed, describing the program as timely given the rising demand for skilled fashion entrepreneurs in Bauchi and across the North East.

Mr. Guyaba further announced that AIG GUYAVA will expand its training curriculum in the next session to include digital fashion marketing, advanced pattern making, and access to micro-grants for top graduates. He called on government agencies and NGOs to collaborate with the center to reach more women and vulnerable youths, stressing that skills training remains one of the most effective tools for peacebuilding and economic stability.

The event ended with the presentation of certificates, starter kits, and sewing machines to outstanding trainees. Stakeholders described the 3rd graduation as proof that private sector-driven empowerment can produce measurable results. With over 180 youths trained in three sets, AIG GUYAVA TAILORING FASHION DESIGN SERVICES is fast becoming a model for free, practical, and community-centered skills development in Bauchi State.
