Abuja-The Minister of State for Defence and Founder/Convener of the Tinubu Again Movement, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, on Tuesday received a rousing welcome in Abuja following his return to Nigeria, with supporters reaffirming their commitment to the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Matawalle, who was recently appointed Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence I of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council, said he would deploy his political network and mobilisation structures towards strengthening support for President Tinubu across the country. He disclosed that the Tinubu Again Movement would intensify its grassroots engagement across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
Hundreds of supporters, APC chieftains and members of the Tinubu Again Movement gathered at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, several hours ahead of the Minister’s arrival. The enthusiastic reception continued along the route as supporters expressed confidence in Matawalle’s capacity to mobilise the grassroots and galvanise support for the President ahead of the 2027 election.
The Minister said the movement’s mobilisation strategy would focus on reaching communities, political stakeholders, youths, women and other critical groups across the country. According to him, the objective is to build a broad-based support network capable of delivering an unprecedented number of votes for President Tinubu, with the movement targeting 20 million votes for the President in 2027.
Matawalle also called on members and supporters of the movement to remain committed, organised and united in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda. He emphasised the importance of taking the message of the administration’s policies, programmes and achievements directly to the people while sustaining effective grassroots engagement ahead of the election.
With his new responsibility within the APC Presidential Campaign Council and the expanding structures of the Tinubu Again Movement, Matawalle is expected to play a significant role in the mobilisation campaign ahead of 2027. His return to Abuja has therefore marked the beginning of another phase of nationwide political engagement aimed at consolidating support for President Tinubu and strengthening the APC’s electoral machinery across the federation.
