Bauchi-The Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Bauchi State, Lumana Bayero Halan (El-Bee Halan), has congratulated President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, describing the milestone as an opportunity for Nigerians, particularly young people, to renew their commitment to national unity, peace and development.

Halan has commended President Tinubu for what he described as his continued focus on reforms, youth inclusion and economic transformation, while acknowledging the sacrifices and challenges that have accompanied the nation’s development journey. He said Nigeria’s independence anniversary should remind citizens that the responsibility of building a prosperous country belongs to everyone, regardless of political, ethnic or religious differences.

The City Boy Coordinator said Nigerian youths have a particularly important role to play in shaping the country’s future, stressing that they must move beyond being spectators to becoming active participants in leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation and community development.

He further stated that the City Boy Movement under its national leadership has continued to provide a platform through which young Nigerians can participate in grassroots engagement, leadership development, entrepreneurship and civic activities. According to him, the growing involvement of young people across the country demonstrates their willingness to contribute positively to national development when given the necessary opportunities and platforms.

Halan particularly highlighted the interventions and youth-focused initiatives associated with Seyi Tinubu, Patron of the City Boy Movement, noting that programmes of empowerment, mentorship, education and grassroots engagement have created opportunities for young Nigerians in different parts of the country. He said such initiatives demonstrate the importance of investing in young people as partners in national development.

He also acknowledged youth-focused interventions outside the City Boy Movement, including initiatives associated with Seyi Tinubu’s NOELLA Foundation, particularly programmes supporting students through mentorship, skills development and career preparation. He said empowering students and young entrepreneurs is essential to building a generation capable of creating employment and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s economy.

The Bauchi State Coordinator reaffirmed the commitment of the City Boy Movement in the state to strengthening grassroots youth participation and supporting programmes that promote unity, entrepreneurship, leadership and responsible citizenship. He said the organisation would continue to mobilise young people around constructive national objectives while encouraging them to contribute their energy and ideas to the development of their communities.

Halan therefore promised that the City Boy Movement in Bauchi State would continue to deepen its engagement with young people across the state, expand grassroots structures and promote opportunities that enable youths to become economically productive and socially responsible citizens. He called on Nigerian youths to remain hopeful, patriotic and committed to the peaceful and progressive development of the country.

He concluded by congratulating President Tinubu and all Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary, praying for peace, stability, prosperity and greater unity across the country, while urging citizens to continue believing in Nigeria and contributing their quota towards building a stronger nation.
